You two are so sweet
Hello friends!
I just found out I do not have cancer in the chest or lymph glands. I have pneumonia. It makes so much sense. I told some friends I felt like I have been walking around with pneumonia and I guess I was right! How cool given all the things I felt worried about. It is consolidated in the lower right lung where I also have a spot that evidently got smaller over the year. Another good thing. So the report was forwarded to my Pulmonary doctor who has prescribed me already two rounds of ZPacks. He didn't catch it. I think I am better, but not enough better, but I may have just accepted it if my Oncologist hadn't checked me and ordered the CT Scan. The test was only just done on Friday.
Thank God for my Oncologist. How much longer would I have gone on like this if it weren't for her?
Anyway, thank you all for your prayers. Who knows if you didn't change the results I would otherwise have had? We all need to keep this up for each other.
Thanks again,
Sandy0 -

I am SO happy to hear this! I'm sure you are very relieved. But isn't that just a huge statement about how cancer changes our lives--when we are glad to hear we or a friend ONLY have pneumonia? I guess it is what it is! But anyway, I hope the meds will clear it up for you pronto so you can get back to feeling good and singing (not the blues!)! Take care and let us know how you are feeling after the meds kick in. Sleep well tonight, my friend!0 -

Sounds funny to say thank God you have pneumonia, but thsnk God! I too had pneumonia this summer. I got so sick and my daughter ended up driving me to the emergency room. I remember saying to the emergency room doctor that I never felt so sick in all my life. My daughter quickly interjected that I had been treated for anal cancer and had major surgery for another cancer all in one 6 month period. I hope you are not as sick as I was. It took me a long time to get back on my feet, so I hope that you get plenty of rest and get well soon. I wonder if there is any relationship between the treatments and pneumonia? I never had that before and sure hope that I never get it again!
Hugs,

Great News! My friend just got over walking pneumonia, and her 4 year old just had a chest xray to make sure he didn't have it. I hope your pneumonia will be gone very soon. Lori0 -

I too celebrate your good news...can't help but think like someone else how cancer changes us to be thankful that it's only pneumonia.
Take care and be well. You're an inspiration.0 -

I am much better. I wonder if the stress of all the tests I faced and the rehab treatments didn't play into it. I really was getting depressed and was ready to ask for an antidepressant when I see the MSK Psychiatrist next month.
Yesterday, however I made an appointment with my pain manager for strategies to reduce the amount of Lyrica I have been taking. All the doctors at MSK are encouraging me to do this. I still have a great deal of pain in my legs, which I will be open about (I used to "grin and bear"). This may mean it isn't working anyway, although we will find out how bad it really is (it used to be really bad) when we begin reducing the dose. I also think I am going to have to accept that I need to use a doughnut pillow. It will be once again be my "must have" accessory. I am going to try to find attractive tote bags to carry it in. The pain is definitely directly associated with how much time I sit.
But all this is nothing. It really scared me to have two people in my sphere die from Anal cancer during the time I was being tested. Now I am just grateful to be alive.
Thank you so much for all your support through this time.
Love,
