second line treatments
So, it looks like I will end up going the chemotherapy route once again. What's all the rage these days after one fails a bout with R-CHOP?
I think I've heard of RICE, and would really like to know any info or experiences you may have had with RICE or any other second line drug cocktails. I'm curious to hear from you!

RICE
Hi Nathan,
I'm not sure what all rage these days but I'd say
make sure you have plenty of hat gear . Applause for your
sense of humor!
I recently made a post asking similar question about RICE for my friend.
Below is a link to that post but I'm sure others will chime in also.

Jim,
Thanks! As with all chemo regimens it varies across the board! I have been feverishly Googling! Most seem to agree that the second-go-round regimens are a bit more difficult.
I'm trying my best to keep a positive edge with this! Any jokes are welcome
I have managed to get my second opinion appointment set up, but it happens later than I wanted. My current oncologist hoped to have me start chemo again by this Friday, but the appointment is next Wednesday.
I'm playing it by ear.. if things are really that dire, I feel they may try to give me a better appointment time after seeing my medical records. (which are still floating out in never-never-land) I'll bet there is a sprite, young doctor there itching to kill my lymphoma for me
In the meantime----- meditating!

Hi Nathan,
Dang....I'm so sorry you have to do a second chemo. I did not do RICE nor R-CHOP so I can't be any help there...mine was CVP-R(pretty mild in comparison). I just wanted to wish you well and tell you I'll keep you in my prayers and will be thinking only positive thoughts. Hang in there...Love, Sue

Speaking of meditation:
Puppetji - Enlightenment
(Warning - language. Humor with grains of truth)
Hope this made you smile.
If you feel up to it, get out and do something nice for
yourself before you embark on this next part of your journey.
I'm not suggesting you go out and get a bunch of tatoos but
something within reason .
Hugs,

It is a bit of a bummer, but I know it's all going to be okay. Thank you for the kind thoughts -Nathan0 -

Jim,
That video is awesome.. I swear you can find anything on YouTube. My day is fantastically altered
I know what you mean about doing something nice. I went out for lunch yesterday, and I just may do the same today. I may have to resign myself to hospital food for a little while.. though the food there isn't bad. Just boring!
I'm planning on bugging the doctor later .. I gave it a rest yesterday!

During my chemo in the hospital, I was fortunate that the food was mostly good.
Those of us on the cancer floors had menus and would call in our orders - kind
of like room service. The nurses' stations had a room with snacks and microwaveable
items in case you got the prednisone munchies in the middle of the night. I don't know how many times I asked for ice cream at around 3:00am. I would get chocolate ice cream and a little carton of milk and make my own little milk shake. Don't I know
how to party! ☺
Keep us posted buddy and hugs,
Jim0
