I am sitting here wondering

I have to go to an oral surgeon Mon. My jaw has lost bone. My teeth are very touchy and hurt. I am wondering if the chemo I had or taking fosamax or having zometa has done damage or has the Femara done its damage. I know everyones journey through is different. I have been to the denist all along I was told no problems until now. I will found out Mon how many teeth I will be losing. Accourding to the denist I will be losing all my teeth . I hate cancer .

    Sorry!
I have TMJ so I couldn't take anything to strengthen my bones. They can cause necrosis of the jaw. Not sure about the drugs you are taking but if any are to protect your bones it could be a cause.

    I'm sorry to hear
I'm sorry to hear about your teeth and jaw, that is horrible. Cancer is horrible. My doctor wants me to go on Fosamax and I have refused even though I have had bad bone density tests. My dentist said I'd be okay, but I just have this voice telling me not to take it. I can't even imagine having to have all your teeth removed. I'm so sorry you have to go through this on top of the cancer. It stinks. Sending prayers your way.

    I had teeth sensitivity
I had teeth sensitivity before cancer but I feel chemo and Tamoxifen make these things worse as well as creating them in the first place. Everyone told me cancer and treatment does not do this, I beg to differ. Also had a route canal done straight after chemo which came out of the blue, you never really know. No oral treatment must be given during chemo for sure due to infection. Second your comment 'cancer sucks'.

I am very sorry it is difficult to treat
