Update on mom's ascitis
Today, 13th of October, a year ago started our nightmare when she was told she had colon cancer that had spread to the lungs, liver and peritoneal, since then we have learned a lot about this disease, three weeks ago we thought the things were going relativaly well and she was on chemo break, but then she started having more pain and the floating of the abdomen was growing, then at hospital they made a CT and then the things got worse, there are a ovarian lesion of 11 cm that we didn't know that was there.
Now I have revised all the CT reports and then I have found it, there was at February that they call "a possible right adnexal implant" of 6 cm, when they determined that folfox had stop working and we started the clinical trial(she is on the comparisson arm Folfiri + Erbitux), the question is that on the four CT's that were made for the clinical trial this lesion wasn't at the reports, they hadn't control it and there isn't images of this pelvic zone!! This means we don't know if the chemo cocktail were working for this lesion.
Her next appointment is in two weeks, but I have an appointment next friday with an oncologist of her Clinical Trial to talk about this CT and the ovaric lesion that the radiologist doubt if is a primary of ovarian.
Hugs to all.
Celeste.

You are a good daughter
Celeste, I know what you are going through is hard. I went through cancer with my dad as a young woman. You are doing everything right and are a wonderful advocate for your mother. I hope you get some answers soon. I know you must be frustrated. Just wanted you to know that I think you are an amazing daughter. I'm sure your mother is very proud of you and thankful for your help. Thinking of you.

Thanks Sandy for your words of encouragement. You are right I'm frustrated, I spend my free time at computer searching for answers, almost always at night because I work and have two children (a son of 7 and a daughter of 5).
Yesterday mom returned to the Hospital and they drained another time the abdominal fluid, this time was almost 3 liters and today she feels a little better.0
