From bad to worse (Brain tumor now)
Anyway as some may recall I have been fighting lung mets and have been going to MD Anderson to have them surgically removed (so they said) left lung was done fine and after a 6weeks wait I returned back to have rest of nodules in right lung removed.
After a ct scan and surgery awoke and Dr said removed all nodules but 1 as it was distant didnt want to remove it to risk losing to much lung capacity.
But since it was small (dime size) best option would be to have it removed via radiation. Fine I say, lets do it. Part of it would require having a fresh PET scan done so I returned this last monday to have abdomen/chest/& neck, head/ PET scan.
We live 4hrs away so as were driving home Tuesday eve I get a phone call from MDA "Can you came back thursday for a Brain MRI" HMMMMMMM wtf I say nobody told me anything about this need to talk to Dr and I'll get back to you. Finally get ahold of nurse Prac in his office ans she explained they saw something on head pet scan and just want a closer look.
Mind you have been having bad headaches to last month by the way. Well my worst nightmare came true. MRI confirmed not one but 2 tumors on brain!!! So now lung met radiation is minor compared to this and put on the back-burner (as it grows while brain work is being done) Anyway I dont know for sure yet but so far I believe tumors are operable. Am being admitted tomorrow and surgery soon. Ill be outta pocket a week or 2 but will have laptop with me so if possible will try to post up a update.
This sucks so bad, I was doing well and not on chemo since jul. Thinking I was fixing to turn the damm corner now this! Really cryed some alot today and this **** is so damm sneaky. Pissed ome off bad! Keep the reports coming folks, just wanted to bleed heart a lil here.

Sorry to hear the latest news mate. Not good but we will just have to see how quickly and effectively they can treat them. You have my best wishes for a speedy resolution... Ron.
You're at a good hospital, Kenny. They move fast there which is good. Hopefully they can do surgery. They'll take care of you.
I know it sux big-time but hope this is treatable a couple of different ways.0 -
Kenny
So sorry, but it sounds like a good plan in place and you're at the best place. I have not been there but if reaccurrance happens that is where I will go. Good luck with surgery and at least it will be happening fast.

Sorry to hear this Kenny. Seems like there's always something we need to be careful of...
I'm speechless, cannot imagine what your feeling. Seems your doctors want to move quickly on this, so that's a good thing. Keep us posted.0 -
Bleed a Lil'...
No doubt:(
I'm glad you got some of that out of your system, Kenny...some tears here and there can be just enough sometimes to round off some of the sharp edges...it's good to hear you talk about it too...
I always worry when I hear the word brain mentioned...I'm gonna' say nothing, because I'm not not even sure which way I'd go...sounds like the plan is already under way...and I'll be standing by anxiously awaiting to hear the word of how it all went down.
I'm sorry you have to experience this...I've watched 4 cases...and you make 5...I remain hopeful for you...whenever you feel well enough to let us know, we'll be here...
The very, very best, Kenny...the very best to you!

Cancer s _ _ _ s!!!
Kenny,
So sorry to hear your news. The longer I'm dealing with this stuff the more I'm convinced that all any of us can do is take it one day at a time and trust in God. And hopefully we can handle today's challenges, maybe with a little help from our family and friends.
God Bless,

Sorry

Makes my heart hurt to read this, Kenny.
What a shock for you, and what a terrible way to learn about it. The doctor really should have contacted you personally, not just put in the referral. Cancer is such a hope stealer, but try to still have some hope and take things one step at a time...get the damn cancer out of your brain, and then get the radiation done on the lung. It's a longer, bumpier road than expected, but you can do it...and we'll be here to support you every step of the way. Many hugs~Ann Alexandria0 -
Damn Kenny. I would have
Damn Kenny. I would have cried a lot too facing all of that. I almost cried reading your post. You are right this is such a sneaky disease. Sometimes i think the cancer has a mind of its own and hides for long periods of time so we will let our guards down. And them BAM it rears its ugly face and attacks again.
Keep fighting brother and cry until cant cry anymore. Then vet real angry and take back what is yours from the beast.0 -
I am truely sorry
Your post made me cry too. But do not let cancer take anymore from you. Continue to fight and please let us all know how you are doing. We all really understand.0
