I cut and pasted this from
I cut and pasted this from the FDA website. I start treatment with the exact combination of these drugs on Tuesday. It's not a clinical trial though. It's the real deal :-)
On August 3, 2012, the U. S. Food and Drug Administration approved ziv-aflibercept injection (Zaltrap, Sanofi U.S., Inc.) for use in combination with 5-fluorouracil, leucovorin, irinotecan (FOLFIRI) for the treatment of patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) that is resistant to or has progressed following an oxaliplatin‑containing regimen. Ziv-aflibercept (previously known as aflibercept) is a recombinant fusion protein consisting of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-binding portions from the extracellular domains of human VEGF receptors 1 and 2 that are fused to the Fc portion of the human IgG1 immunoglobulin.

Yes for sure let's keep inFarm Girl said:thanks Ron
thank you for sending this info. My sister started that combo 2 weeks ago..Can you please keep me posted on how you are doing? Are you stage IV as well? Have you had a colon resection? Belinda
Yes for sure let's keep in touch throughout our ordeal :-)
How is your sister doing after her first treatment?
Yes, I am and was diagnosed at stage IV. You can check out my profile for my treatments. I'm kind of an oddball. I don't have cancer in my colon and never have. I have colon cancer on my tailbone and metastisis to my periotonium. I've never had surgery but have had radiation on my tailbone about a year ago.
