Chicago!
Headed over to Chicago to visit a friend who has Prostate cancer, then watch my brother run in the Chicago Marathon... then, Sunday & Monday at GraphExpo at McCormick Center. Looking forward to seeing old friends as well as all my friends in the Printing Industry.
Cheers to all.0 -
More Indian summer is always welcome!
We're having that here in Seattle as well. Ate at a tapas place a few days ago run by a chef from Barcelona. Delicious!
And my own weekend is all family obligations...babysitting one great-niece today and another tomorrow (and it's real babysitting, as they are both about 8 months old) and then having a birthday dinner for my nephew, as my brother is recently divorced and can't fit people in his tiny apartment. But I'm not complaining (at least too much)..,I'm glad to be here to do it!0 -
Yup Gone Here
Our summer has ended here also. Glad that you will get to spend some quality time with wife. Today my hands and feet are cold and the neuropathy is kicking in big time. Hate this cold weather. Supposed to go to granddaughter's birthday party tomorrow - unless they cancel it LOL. Quiet weekend though as I'm not feeling well. I'll raise a glass to you to for health.

I thought , we left the place by 6 AM! ( just finished my 5 th round the day before! ) it was in a nice 18 th century palace with gorgeous gardens, but really difficult to get in there! lOL. ( had to go back to Barcelona twice and start again!). The question was that it was hidden behind a big SINCROTON, ( particles accelerator) in the University of BCN Campus! Can you imagine? LOL.
Well Judy get calmed for Monday and notice that will be praying for good results in my Sunday mass!.
good that you party hard & that you had a blast!!!
thanks for the prayers

Hi Marie,Lovekitties said:Thanksgiving Day in Canada and US
Someone asked about when Thanksgiving Day was started. Here is what Wikipedia says:
-----------------
On Thursday, January 31, 1957, the Canadian Parliament proclaimed:
“ A Day of General Thanksgiving to Almighty God for the bountiful harvest with which Canada has been blessed – to be observed on the 2nd Monday in October.
Thanksgiving Day, is a holiday celebrated in the United States on the fourth Thursday in November. It has officially been an annual tradition since 1863, when, during the Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national day of "Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens," to be celebrated on Thursday, November 26.
-----------------
So it looks like the United States started celebrating about 93 years before our Canadian friends.
Regardless, it is always good to remember that we each have things to be thankful for, no matter what our situation.
Happy Turkey Day!

Hi Marie,
had to do a bit of research. I grew up with the first Thanksgiving being when the Pilgrims and Indians celebrated the harvest together. (17th century) never knew (or didnt remember) Lincoln declared it an official Holiday, in 1863. So Thanks for sharing that.
I LOVE Thanksgiving, good food, good company and no presents to buy ; )
Hugs all,

Cheer up Rick!RickMurtagh said:sounds like a lovely weekend Pepe
Hopefully I am doing nothing this weekend except dropping my wife off at the airport - she will be visiting friends and family (grandkids - yay) all this nest week and I will join her mid-week.
I am hoping to just relax and since I have no friends in the city we moved to in June, I will be all alone. Not sad, just alone. Okay maybe a little sad, I spend every day alone while my wife goes off to work and we go away nearly every weekend. I can't wait to get a job and settle again so we can make some friends.
But I am good really - have lots planned to take up the days.
Just relax and make all the plans your wife wouldn't allowed you to do , hehehehehe!
Big hug and think that 4 days is nothing!0 -

Interrupted no plans
I was just going to veg out at home and work on getting my breath and strength back. But, my VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Post had a fund raiser dinner for cancer research tonight with karaoke after. So off I went to the Post and for the first time since I've been going there I met a single lady! We talked for a couple hours and traded phone numbers. Reckon I'll call her tomorrow and see when we can get together for a ride.0 -
