New.
I'm new here so I'm not sure where to start. I guess when it all started. When I was 23, in 2010, I was pregnant with my 3rd child. I had a pap. My paps had been abnormal for a while, but this time it was different. A colposcopy and biopsy confirmed carcinoma in situ. I was told not to worry and my OB could take care of it after my daughter was born. I had her in September of 2010. After her birth I had numerous proceedures such as cryotherapys, leeps, cold knife cone surgery and biopsies. Nothing got rid of it. I was informed that it had spread to the uterus and I could either go to an oncologist for chemo or have a hysterectomy. I chose surgery. I have a 7yr, 5yr and 2yr old who need their momma and I wasn't going to risk chemo not working. So, I had a total abdominal hysterectomy. The Dr. went in through my cesarean scar and took everything but the ovaries. She didn't want to throw me into menapause or be dependent on hormones at such a young age.
Fast forward to the beginning of the week. I had an ultrasound due to pelvic pain, weightloss and extreme tiredness. A 6x6 complex mass was found along with fluid in the pelvic cavity. It was confirmed by CT with barium and iodine.
The OB who found the mass on U/S and CT is not on my insurance. She did all that and gave me a follow up on Monday, knowing she wasn't going to get reimbursed bc she was concerned. She can't do my surgery though. The one who can, my regular OB isn't back until 2nd week of Oct. and not back in the OR till the 17th. I have an appointment with her when she returns from vacation. I have also requested an appointment with MD Anderson. If MD Anderson give me a sooner appointment after reviewing my chart, I'm taking it. I got an email back from MDA that they will call me Monday. The only gyn-oncologists are north of my city.
I had a colonoscopy a week ago and the Dr. removed a polyp and biopsied a few questionable areas. The results came back as pre-cancerous lesions. I have an appointment with the Dr. on Oct. the 19th to discuss surgery and treatment options.
It's nice to have a place to share this other than Facebook, I don't really like talking about it with people because I feel like I am whining and people have their own stuff to deal with. Anyway, I hope to meet some nice people here. =]

Welcome to the boards
Anything and everything can be disscussed her and people cross the different boards for different cancers, I had Uterine cancer and had surgery and chemo but no radiation last year. There are a lot of women of these boards and some men to for their wifes, mothers, sisters so there is a large mix of people and circumstances. Nothing is held back, fears, celebrations, life and even deaths. This is a place to whine, vent, share feelings, anger and no one will judge you because we have all shared those feelings. Glad you found us because the Internet has a lot of old information that scares those that read for the first time. Good luck and I will be praying for you. trisha0 -

I'm so glad you found this board to share your story. You've been through so much already at such a young age. I would recommend you take a trusted family member or friend to your doctor appointments. They can be a second pair of eyes and ears, and can help in asking questions you may forgot to ask or not think to ask. Before your appointment, write down any questions you already have and bring pen and paper to the appointment. Please keep us posted, and I'm sending you lots of prayers and good vibes!
