Kidney and a Esophageal Cancer connection........

I recently read somewhere that people with RCC and other kidney cancers are at a higher risk for esophageal cancer later on. Not sure if this is meant as a 'metastatic' connection or something entirely new.
I spoke to a friend today who told me this happened to his dad, but the cells weren't RCC in his esophagus, they were the cells associated with Esophageal Cancer. Like we don't have enough to worry about
Any thoughts on this?

I hadn't seen that. I realize there is a push to use the search functionality.
Thanks for the heads up.
