Incontinence Questions

I am 4 weeks past robotic radical prostatectomy and 2.5 weeks after catheter removal. I do not have any urge to urinate. The only urine stream I get is after lying down and then the stream is only 1-2 seconds in duration. However, I have constant leakage throughout the day/night and must change pads every 30-45 minutes. Thoughts?

My feeling is that with time you will slowly regain continence. Mine stopped on a dime at three months and all the while despite my frustrations my urologist reassured me it would. I wish the same for you. JM

jmchugh-- Thanks for the comments and the link to your blog. The sound bite and pdf from Walsh is useful info. Regarding fluid intake post-catheter: I'm limiting fluid intake. Primarily drink water or cherry juice. What about consuming 1 cup per day of decaff coffee? Too much caffeine in it?
