Hey Y'all, get my port out Monday!
I haven't been on here in while. I hope that everyone is well. I'm about to go through the posts and check up on everybody. I'm coming up on a year post-treatment and I'm having my port removed Monday. I won't feel like a cyborg any longer! ("Resistance is futile"). I'm now on Facebook, so I hope to connect with some of you there. I've got some artwork on the page under "Paul J. Hubbard, Jr.". Check it out and let me know what you think. If I get 30 "likes" (I'm currently at 28), I win a toaster oven or something. I've also (finally) got my website up. Google pauljhubbardjrart.com. Hey Skiff, if you're reading this, I'd love some feedback from a fellow "paintslinger". You still working? Hope that you and your wife have been well.
Take care everyone,
Paul

Port removal is about the last graduation
we get, isn't it? It comes after we've finished rads, finished chemo, gotten feeding tubes removed, and gotten back to our lives....Congrats that your port is moving on without you ....

DePorted...
Paul, I know that you're gonna be happy with being DePorted.
I know it was long awaited for me...my onco like to leave them in for two years, it was nearly two and a half for me.
They were going to surgically remove it at first, OR, all of that crap. They finally got with the program and it was basically a 10 minute office visit.
Will definitely chek out the artwork...
I've been working on a piece that I need to finish up soon. A prismacolor of a co-worker and her persian cat that passed away recently.
Best,

John,
Yeah, I'm not sure if my "deportation" was a result of profiling or not! ! Rest assured, I'll be glad to have it removed. And yeah, you're right, the doc told me it would only take about 30-45 minutes to remove: Out-patient surgery. I just got back from the pre-operation physical: I'm good to go. Sorry that you had to co-habitate with yours for so long. I guess in your case resistance was futile! (a "borg" reference). It was, however, for the best intentions. I'm glad that you had it taken out (eventually) and that you're doing well.
I'm Sincerely sorry to hear about the cat. I've got a daughter (sorry, I mean cat) myself. Both me and my son (her big brother)would be devastated if anything happened to her. Although he is NOW telling me that when she dies, he wants to bury her in the backyard and get a dog! (He's eleven)
Looking forward to seeing the new piece. Are you on Facebook?
Take care,
