I had a PET scan yesterday and got the results today -- they are great!! I have multiple bone mets. ALL the bone mets have shrunk, several have "disappeared" (no longer metastatic), and no new nasties. Also had an MRI brain and everything looking good - no edema, further shrinkage of the spots. I am thrilled! Even my oncologist was a little stunned at how good the results are.
I have been on GOLF-A (Gemzar, Oxilaplatin, Leukovorin and 5FU plus Avastin). Now I am going to switch from 5FU to Xeloda (everything else the same) -- which will be MUCH better quality of life for me (I have to be hospitalized with the 5FU -- now can do as outpatient, altho it will mean going in 2 days in a row for drip -- that's OK).
Grinning ear to ear,
Tara
