Update

I have been lurking around lately but not really posting much and thought it is a good time to give a little update. I cant believe how many new faces on the board! but the best is to check in on the many of you that have been on for a while and still going strong!
As for me, I had a 9 month remission and then tried Doxil for 6 months. It seemed to be working for a while but the last couple months the CA125 started to rise and I started to have severe constipation and abdominal pain. It took several trips to ER and several tests but they finally figured out that the cancer is still growing on the outside of my bowel. That is what is causing the constipation. So now I have started back on Carboplatin and I am starting to feel a little better. I am realy weak so I must work on that. I am allergic to carboplatin so I have to go to the hospital every 21 days and be admitted overnight for the infusion. They say they can almost always give it if they use enough steroids and benadryl and run it very slow.
I am BRCA2 positive and they tell me that the cancer has a harder time figuring out how to be resistant if you carry this mutation. Weird I know.
So hopefully I will soon be eating better and getting more active around the house.
I wish you all the best in your treatments and journeys
