    Getting Better Every Day
    Hi Marie and Pete: I haven't been able to go home yet and am still at what I call the "home" - a retirement place only 2 blocks from my house. I have physio every day and can almost walk on my own with a cane. So a big improvement from no movement at all anywhere! I'm going to stay with friends about 3 hours from here - she is looking after my lovely dog Charlotte. I am also going to be moving in October as I can't really do lots of steps any more, nor lawn mowing and snow shovelling. I had a CT scan on Wednesday. I met with my oncologist before that and we agreed, no chemo for awhile but perhaps radiation (to the liver not the peritoneum nodules). I had a horrible experience with the new "bag" attached to me (a colostomy bag) when it exploded from all the barium I had for the CT scan - all over my room here at the retirement place! I was so embarrassed. Always new challenges. And my hair all broke off - the final indignity!

    I remember when I was doing swimming, I dived in, the bag came off.
    Embarrassing yes, but not here. Keep smiling, I am glad your dog is being cared for.

    Great to see you posting Cheryl. Good their considering doing something about the liver tumor...FINALLY!!!! Maybe RFA or something?? Keep us updated, you probably miss Charlotte so much!!

    Hi CHeryl, I am sending many HUGS, please hang in there. Nothing with our illness is embarissing, So, the thing exploded. Hair is not important, your lovely smile is. That is why there are wigs.
    So proud of you that you push through and are able to walk some. Keep it up Lady. One day and one step at a time. enjoy all the love Charlotte will give you. Keep us posted, you are in our hearts and prayers.

    Hi all: Thank you so much for your kind thoughts! Getting ready to leave the "home" and visit friends in Whitby (east of Toronto on the lake) where my dog is - it will be so good to see her (and my friends of course!). Walking is getting easier - I practised this morning (but you get attached to the walker). The bag is not!

    It sounds like you are recovering but slowly, but that is great that you have come as far as you have. Glad you have someone to stay with when you get out of there. You will have company, plus someone to watch over you if you need it. Hope your recovery goes well and speedy. Thanks for the updates.

    Thanks, Kim. I'm going to read up on perforated bowels and diverticulitis so I can understand the warning signs (if there are any). I can almost walk on my own now and feel much better with the daily physio I'm getting here.
