Book recommendation - "Your medical mind" by Groopman and Hartzband

I just finished this book and found it helpful to me in making a recent decision and, most likely, decisions in the future about my medical care. I'm talking about decisions in the gray area - where you can go more than one way. I think it might help some other people on this board as well. It's a very good read about how we as patients make medical decisions. I found it particularly insightful about advanced directives, statistics, regrets and imagined vs. actual quality of life. If you read it, let me know what you think.

I wonder....
Hi,
Thank you for posting that. The book sounds interesting. Do you remember if it had anything in there for stage 2a colon cancer patients trying to decide on chemo or no chemo?
Or possibly any statistics?
I wonder what year the book was written...do you know?
Thank you SO much.0 -

It's not really a guide for specific scenarios. It's more about the psychology of medical decision making and helps the reader consciously determine how they make their own medical decisions. Good luck to you with your decisions.0
