Green Tea....

Green tea.
Thanks adman. Green tea is my first drink of the day. The research comes from 'up the road' from me in Glasgow, home of the world's first ever cancer hospital.
The anticancer value of green tea has been known for a long while but this promises to advance that a lot further. It won't happen tomorrow but it's exciting news nonetheless.0 -

I remember that, Nancy. Good to hear from you, just as it is from Rae. Are you, like her, visiting here from time to time? How is your Daughter?0 -

My little girl is great. She started Kindergaen this month, and she loves it!! I am just thrilled. I put off my interleukin a month so I could get her started in school and her birthday was this month also. Who wants to be in the Hospital when all the important things are happening?0 -

My husband oncologist said the important substance in Green Tea is only present 5-10 minutes after it's brewed. So you need to drink it only freshly brewed to have an effect.
The ones from the bottle would not have any effect. The optimal results are if you drink 5 or more cups a day.0 -

Ena, I think you may have misunderstood - the exact opposite is the case! The valuable components only become available maximally AFTER the tea has been brewing for 10 minutes. Therefore you shouldn't drink it SOONER than that if you want to get the proper benefit. By then it has become very astringent - too bitter for some tastes and might want sweetening (but not so for me).0 -

Texas_wedge I know that the tea needs to brew for 10 minutes, but it's also a fact that it has more antioxidants when it's hot. After it cools down the tea oxidizes quickly and it's less beneficial. Here is an article on that : http://www.livestrong.com/article/268754-what-are-the-benefits-of-drinking-tea-hot-vs-cold/
Also another one that says adding lemon increases antioxidants benefits : http://www.amazing-green-tea.com/green-tea-with-lemon-increase-antioxidants-benefits.html0
