Colonoscopies

Scope
Had first one which detected the tumor, then one 1 1/2 years later and he said to wait two years (which this was two years in May), all clean so wait another 2 years. I'm sure everyone's doctor is different especially if, like you said, yours was aggressive. I'll trust my surgeon with whatever he recommends because I've no clue what to expect. I'm sure if you feel uneasy about every two years, discuss it with your doctor and maybe see if he will go every 18 months or so.

Thanks so much! I will talkdanker said:Psalm37
when my colonoscopy one year after resection showed me NED, the doctor said I could wait 3 years until the next one. The oncologist agreed. I assume this is what you wanted to know. Good luck!
Thanks so much! I will talk to him next month about it! Y'all have a good weekend!0 -
every year
I was dx last June, so that was my first one. I just had my second one in April and a polyp was removed. My onc tells me I'll have one every year until I am polyp free..which is good with me. Colonoscopies don't scare me anymore...having a recurrance scares the poo out of me. Had CT scans every three months last one in July next one will be January...I'd rather stay with three months (my security blanket I guess) mine was aggressive as well stage IIIB.
As far as I'm concerned even when I have a polyp free one, I'm still going to ask for one each year if for no other reason than keeping my sanity!
If it were me, I'd want another one in year not two but that's me.

You would almost think you like the prep. LOL I have to use gatorade to get it down, so in no hurry for my next one.0 -

I had the gatorade, Miralax and ducolax prep last time..it was rough! Note to the wise :don't try ro pour the entire bottle of Miralax In the gaorade at once....it fizzes big time! I don't like the prep but I rest really good the rest of the day! I have to laugh at myself.. Tuesday I had apiece of red velvet cake at lunch....I go poo before going to bed and I see red...I go wake my sleeping husband so he can take a peek and then I cry! Two days later I remember the cake! I'm not sure how long he is going to not let me forget that! . Sure was glad I remembered, dang chemo brain! . I haven't lost being able to laugh at myself yet!0
