weight training helps with diabetics
some of us may have a few cancer cells, but if we exercise well we may avoid diabetese.
I will pop this into my exercise walking post.
I am weight training intensively twice per week. and qigong yoga the other 3 days a week.
not much catabolic walking.

now for what is worth i have recently finsished studying the link between our genetics and exercise and diet. its a complex and evolving field of medical science that has many implications for cancer patients.
personally speaking the possibility of our exercise regime being tailored to our genetic prepispositions and that the type of exercise, the frequency etc etc can alter our insulin resistance, our glycongen stores. these areas areas have so many complex interactions, no wonders onc don't want to go near it.
even the diet we have going into chemo, or a prechemo fast will determine the extent of muscle lost. the good old fashioned carb loading endurance athletes use. anyway lots to research in this area. it is fascinating to me.
anyway if you feel up to it, do some squats or pushups and get ample good quality protein into your blood supply.
remember muscle is heavy than fat, so you may appear to be getting smaller, even while maintaining or increasing weight. what in fact you are doing is getting stronger. this is actually whats happening to me.
the last thing i wanted to share about the benefits of strict diet and lossing all excess fat is the reduction in inflamation that some people with the genetic disposition experience as a result of post exercise recovery. so having a workout diet aimed at reducing this surge in inflamation post exercise is a good thing i think.
of course i am always commenting on things i barely understand, am happy to apply to my journey. but i can clearly see the potential treatment benefits in the worlds leading colorectal alternative treatment center. which i would goto if it existed.
one day soon we will all know our genetics, our strong points and weaknesses and have a targeted therapy that guides lifestyle interventions re diet, rest, meditation, exercise as well as stronger treatment options. until that time arrives we do the best we can.
hugs,
Pete

A training partner, that's rely helped me. It's what the walking post should turn in to.
A way to find virtual training partners with s common goal
Motivation, just do it if you want the numerous benefits, so it's not just walking.
