Scan results, not good. :-(

Well folks, things didn't go so well today. We were just informed that folfiri/avastin has stopped working. Doctor gave Rick weeks to a few months. I'm kind of numb right now....

Well that sucks! Where are Rick's tumors? What about that new drug Zaltrap that was just approved?
I certainly do not want to give false hope but I think we always have to have some hope. People defy the odds every day.

Hi Phil, thank you, he'll ask his local oncologist on about Zaltrap on Monday. Rick asked if he could go back on Folfox, but the doctor stated that it didn't work last time since the cancer came back only six weeks after he went off of it post liver resection. So, Rick will ask about trial up here in NH, but the Dana Faber doctor didn't think it would buy him any time. (What I dislike about her is that she's always smiling when she tells us this unsettling news - that drives my crazy.) All in all this was a miserable day. Oh, and I haven't mentioned yet, my own doctor called me when we were at D.F. to tell me that I have high grade abnormal cervical cells, although still pre-cancerous, but she wants to schedule an operation for me in the next few weeks to remove them. :-( Ah well, we just keep trudging along...
