Hi All

Well I finally got the scan. It was done at a new satalite imaging center. Very very posh and I really felt welcomed. The place looked like a cross between a ritzy spa and disneyland's fancy hotel. very sureal indeed!

The i.v. set up is always the hardest part for me. Tiny, scarred veins. Plus today, I was so dehydrated the nurse worried about finding one at all.

Must have been my lucky day. She used a really really hot towel and a super tiny baby needle and woohoo, she got it on the first try. She said the veins are so fragile and tiny, she was amazed. Patty is the best nurse in my book!!

The scan tech was also just as wonderful. poor young guy seemed so worried about my pain. He was so gentle helping me to lie down and the during the scan. The contrast really hurt going in, darn tiny veins.
It just was a new sort of experence for me. Kind, gentle people who only wanted me to be okay and in less pain.

Anyway, I assume that I will hear from the onc tomorrow (today).

Pain really does a number to my brain. I feel so vulnerable and weak. Crying way to much. Snapping at hubby for no reason at all. Just feel totally out of it and totally over it!

I'll let you know what I find out.

Hugs to all
Lisha

    normal
Hoping for the best, crying and feeling weak are so normal after what you have been through. Don't give up, your one step closer. I remember the tiny veins, on my last chemo before I had my port, it took six tries and three nurse's to finally find the vein, not fun at all! Take care Lisha...... Vinny

I just read your post. We have been gone all summer. I am so sorry for all you are going through. I pray that your scan is good and that you will start on the road back from this pain. You are a strong woman. Don't be hard on yourself. I remember I snapped a lot at my husband and he understood just like yours does. Let us know how the scan was. I just said a prayer for you. You are a very special person to all of us. Love Joanie

    With you
    Dear Lisha,

I am sure you're husband understands. This is a very rough patch for the two of you.
Marriage is not all smiles each day.

I just hope the doctor's can get to the bottom of this pain you are having each day.

You know I care about you, and send positive energy. God Bless Lisha.

    Always Maggie

    LIsha,

I have never minded a shot or a blood draw, but threrading a cath into my veins is always a serious ordeal for nurses (it is a different technique, and a different device). I was in for my port instertion, and it took close to an hour for them to get something that would work. I was very cold, and they "heated" me as well.

The fourth nurse to try did the job in about 30 seconds, with no trouble. I wish she had been the first !

    Playing for your results,

    max

    I meant "praying," not "playing."

But, if I win the Lotto, you get a cut.
