fired for taking time off....
I don't understand how you could be fired, surely if you have documentation to say your in(or where in) treatment for cancer your boss would understand. He/She must be a heartless so &so. Is your cancer gone? Hope you get another job soon. Keep looking forward and things will improve. If your feeling down, that's ok it's normal, but don't let that sadness overcome you. Try and stay positive " "when one door closes another one opens".
Take care.

terminated
this is such bs. Pisses me off how heartless managers can be. I had cancer and when I returned I was not accepted back...was scrutinized and it was a very hostile environment. I had worked for this organization for like 8 yrs and never called off sick. I was asked to quit 2 occasions and refused..so I was terminated! I filed with the EEOC. You should call..google your local office. Good luck to you0 -
What a shame of your boss.
What a shame of your boss. Firstly try to relax, take your time for your treatment and then you have long time to think about your job and your boss. I think you have the right to talk with a lawyer about that issue but of course after the treatment.0 -
Sorry to hear this but
FMLA only allows 12 weeks of off time, the worst part is you lose all your insuarnce and comapines take advantage of this to keep thier rates down, I know it really sucks but they are playing by the rules. I'm off for the next 8 weeks just for tonsil cancer treatments, then possibly about 4 weeks for recovery. I'm a truck driver and my boss says were a dime a dozen, so at my 12th week I'm going into his office and drop a dime on his desk. He seems to forget that to truck drivers, companies are a dime a dozon.
Good luck on finding another job but wait until you feel like working and check into SSI social security until then.
