'Sub-Type' RCC ??

in Kidney Cancer #1
I've recently been reading several posts where people are listing a 'Sub-Type' RCC. Do all RCC's have a sub-type?
I've recently had a full and my path report came back Stage 1, Grade 1, but no sub-type. I asked my Dr about this yesterday and he didn't indicate there was one.

Thoughts?

    Sub-type
    Your path report should show sub-type - probably clear cell - unless the histology is unclassifiable (which is usually not good news). Since your report is Stage 1 and Grade 1 - as good as it gets - your sub-type hardly matters. At Grade 1 you won't be sarcomatoid or unclassified.

    You are right
    It does indicate 'Clear Cell'. I wasn't aware that this is a sub-type.

    Dude,

    I am now seeing how lucky I truly am given the crazy circumstances how this was found.
    I and am quickly learning to see the glass 1/2 full & To live my life in gratitude :)

    Clear cell
    Clear cell is the most frequent sub-type and the one about which most is known - an advantage when it comes to treatment, but you shouldn't need any more treatment. Your glass is much more than half full.

    Glass is full!
    Grade 1, stage 1, clear cell, short of benign it doesn't get any better!!
