First recurrence treatment?
I meet with my oncologist tomorrow to discuss his treatment plan. After nine months of complete remission, I have my first recurrence. I was first diagnosed in May '11. What drugs have any of you had for recurrence? Wonder if I will be given carbo/taxol/avaistan again? I'm just frustrated, discouraged, and scared.
Thanks,
Carla

and I am taking Tamoxifen. That is what my surgeon recommended, and my oncologist concurred. My son and I met with the oncologist and decided to try this option. If it doesn't work I will have chemo. I don't know which one. I am feeling okay but just trying to take it one day at a time. As I have said it is the unknown that gets to me.

I've been lucky to not have had a reoccurrence, so I can't help you with your specific question. But I'm sending you lots of good wishes and prayers as you and your doctor decide on the game plan. As Val said, you can and will kick cancer's butt!

Carla I just my chemo at the end of June. I did cisplatin/taxol so if you end up with that I may be able to answer some of your questions.
Good luck and let us know how your appointment goes tomorrow0
