Chris and I had a baby girl,CHRISTINA on May 15. She is beautiful, healthy, and weighed 7pounds 7oz. Our other girl weighed 9.8lbs. I didn't have an epidral with either of them so I was happy this one was a couple pounds smaller!
Everything went well and we all feel good. Chris was off treatment when Christina was born until last week. He was slightly jaundice and had to get a colonoscopy because the gastroenterologist wouldn't look at him until that was done. ALL CLEAR there. Then he had an MRCP then we went to Indianapolis to get an ERCP and we thought he would have to get a stent to help with the obstruction from one of his liver tumors, but he didn't need it. Instead he had a pouch of fluid that had to be drained. I didn't realize if they have to put a stent in your liver they have to replace it every couple of months.
We also talked to his surgeon and he might have another liver resection. It is risky because his tumor is right on the portal vein in a bad location close to a bile duct. We'll see how his pet scan looks and go from there. We take it one day at a time.
Those of you I have come to know over the years you are in my thoughts and prayers often. I hope all is going well.

Life
FAbulous to hear that amongst all of our fighting against death there is also new life. My wife was pregnant when I was first diagnosed and my son born while I was on chemo- whilst it was hard to balance the joys and the sorrows it really helped sustain us. The birth of our daughter a few years later completed our family and felt hugely important in our not letting this illness rule our lives and family.
Thank you for sharing your news,

Congratulations!
I'm very happy for you all.
Concerning Chris's tumor by his portal vein, I had a large tumor by my hepatic artery when I was dx and Avastin was able to shrink the tumor so I became operable. I don't know if this has been explored yet as an option. Just thought I'd put it out there.

Hi Erin:
Long time no see. I'm sorry Chris is back in the battle. I was so hoping that not seeing you was the best news, that Chris was clear and you were enjoying life. Hang in there.
Big Congratulations on the new baby. Your hands must be very full now not only caring for Chris but the little ones also. I hope all is going well and you have some help with babysiting and such if you need it.
Again, big Congratulations!

Hi Erin, congrats on your
Hi Erin, congrats on your new blessing.
I just wanted to tell you that my husband had a tumor very close to the hepatic vein that they wanted to ablate. They ended up using cryro (cold) which is just as effective in destoying tumor but doesn't cause as much swelling therefore not causing damage or blockage to that artery. If for some reason surgical removal is not possible maybe you could ask about this procedure.
GOD's belssings to your family.
