Met with the doctor yesterday

in Ovarian Cancer #1
Sorry I am just posting now but when I got home I feel asleep do to the release of emotion after talking with the doctor this is what we talked aboout.


I had my appointment and the tumor has grown so after 8 weeks they took me off the new trial. I am going on Gemcltahine and Carboplatin to get it under control and then we will look at trials that might be good for me. They feel that I am doing well an should respond to the new medication with no problem. Thank you all for your prayers and support I love you all and continue to Thank God for giving me such good friends who supports me through this battle. ♥

    Good Morning Anne. I am new here. Just joined a few days ago but I found myself checking this site yesterday on and off to see if you posted.

    I am sorry to hear your news but happy the doctor is optimistic about the chemo working. I had cisplatin and one of my chemos. I believe carboplatin is of the same group. When will you begin?

    Glad to hear your dr has a plan and says you are doing well. Hang on to Gods promises and not fear. That's what I've been told and it does help to keep my attitude strong. Love and prayers to you.

    So sorry you are dealing with this. The doctors plan sounds encouraging. Carboplatin is usually very effective. It is a tough road but I know you can do this. You are in my prayers.

    I am so happy
    to hear you sound upbeat about the options you have been offered. I had carboplatin/taxol before debulking surgery and it brought my numbers down from over 9000 to 800 in three infusions.

    I will continue praying for you and thinking good thoughts.

    Thank you for sharing the optimistic and promising news from your doctor. I will be sending yo plenty of good thoughts and prayers as you prepare to begin your new chemo drugs. How are you doing mentally and emotionally, my friend?

    I have to have a girl exam on the 7th and then I start on the 9th. I go two weeks off one then have one and start all over again if I am rembering right. Thank you for checking in on me yesterday.

    Glad to see your Dr has a plan for you. I'm looking up Gemcltahine after I'm done typing this as it is not one of the chemo's the Dr mentioned and it may be something to think about for Tina's cocktail. Good luck to you Annie.

    Let me know if her doctor puts her on it and let me know how she does. I will make sure to let you know my first CA125 after I started and I will let you know how I am doing through out the treatment. Tell Tina good luck and I am praying for her.

    Carmen what time do you start your chemo and end it maybe we can meet for lunch or something. If we can't meet for lunch maybe mom and I can come by your infusion room. Who is your nurse mine are Mo and Eileen I think the nurse they have are great. Well I will go and talk to you later.

    I have chemo on Tuesday
    I have chemo on Tuesday August 7th at 8:00 am, and then I have a follow up wiht Dr. Monk on Thursday August 9th at 10:30 am. Which one works for you?
