My niece age 34 was diagnosed seven weeks ago with stomach cancer. She went for her third round of chemo two days ago and the doc decided to do a scope to see if the chemo is working. The results were not what we wanted to hear. The chemo is not working and the new diagnosis is linitis stomach cancer. The doctor now has to come up with a new approach. We are waiting to consult with a radiation specialist. The doctor said this type of cancer is very rare and her odds are not very good. I refuse to believe this. Right now we are at a small cancer center but last night we took the first steps to register at MD Anderson. Any advise is appreciated? Please help!!
