Tinnitus

in Head and Neck Cancer #1
Anybody have/had tinnitus (ringing in the ear) due to their nasal tumor. I'm not talking about tinnitus due to the treatment but from the tumor itself.

    Yes....I started having ringing in my ears
    in January...but wasn't diagnosed with Naso-pharengyal Carcinoma until March....I still have the ringing now...3 weeks out of rads.

    get baseline hearing tests
    You should both probably get baseline hearing tests so that future issues can be assessed from a starting point. Many of us go for baseline swallowing tests but I think this one is overlooked some. If you have the insurance and the time, get it scheduled.

    it after my radiation finished. Now 6 months... it is come and go everyday.

    Ringing in the ears
    Hello !
    I don't have your type of c or treatment. But because of my surgery, that was so close to my nerve sheath in neck, I too have the ringing. A hearing baseline sounds like a good idea, one I hadn't thought of. My tumor was up under my rt. jaw and butted up next to my nerve bundle under my ear. Been told has to do with nerve damage.
