yet another loss

Tomorrow, we will have to put our beloved dog to sleep. She's over 15 yrs old and we've had her since we found her , a stray, just a baby still.. maybe 12 wks old. My husband got out to get the mail, she came running through some tall grass that cold, windy April day, jumped into his car and curled up on the seat. That was all she wrote. Our little princess has been struggling greatly the last few weeks. She can no longer walk, even with assistance.. she just falls. And This morning I got her to eat and drink a little bit, now she won't eat at all. This is so damn hard, it's life I know but it just brings the sense of loss of the last few years up front again. I am not sure if I can take another loss... i am so tired of loss... Sorry to be such a sad sack tonight...

Sadly, the longer we live the more losses we experience. Our pets are part of the family. It's hard to lose them.0 -

I just came across your post. I am so very sorry to read about your beloved dog. She is a member of your family and her loss will be felt. So very sad.
I still miss our sweet kitty who was put to sleep at age 22 years. And I dread the day that our beloved dog, Lola has to leave us...
Loss of a loved one is so hard. I will think of you and give my girl an extra hug tonight.
I am so sorry you are going through this pain.
Hugs and strength during this difficuly time..

Thanks you
everyone for your kind words and support. We did put her to sleep (not until yesterday) We were going to do it Monday but I backed out last minute. So she got to enjoy one more holiday, one more cookout. It was time, her quality of life the last few weeks was poor. Hard as it was, I'm at peace with the decision.0
