    Bowel obstruction with Peritoneal Cancer

    Hello,

My mother has peritoneal cancer and has finished chemo.  She is now doing infusions, but they are not eliminating stomach issues and the beginnings of bowel obstruction. These things did get better with chemo.  Does anyone have advice about how to deal with the particular stomach and bowel pain that comes with this awful cancer?  Also, I am trying to help her get in touch with a palliative care specialist.  Does anyone have any advice about what I should be asking of such a specialist, especially in regards to the bowel obstruction that is part of this cancer? Thanks,  Shelley

I am so sorry to hear what your wife is going thru and what you and your family are going thru. I didnt have peritoneal cancer, but I had Uterine cancer it presented with bloating and swollen abdomen.I had surgery ,felt better and am okay today. I wrote to you because I can feel your pain in your words. I will be praying for your family. I know it's tough trying to stay strong for your family. I say cradle your wife with all this love you have for her,try to make each day better than the previous day and stay prayed up. God will give you strength.

if chemo isn’t cutting people who suffer from this, why not try alternative therapies?

Good Morning from very cold Texas,

I had surgery on 1/23/2025 to remove my ovaries, fallopian tubes, my tumor and any visible cancer. The surgeon said most of the cancer cells were found in the momentum. I have recovered well from the surgery and today I am having my first of three post surgery chemo infusions. After that if I understood my doctor correctly I will have one infusion a month and be prescribed a chemo pill. I am feeling strong and optimistic and hope to get back to normal activities so I can recover my strength.
