JUST HAD TO SHARE THIS, IT TOUCHED MY HEART

3 years ago Friday, I lost a very special friend and coworker who had fought a brave fight against colon cancer for about years. She always was so positive thru out her battle even though she had been told more than once that she only had months to live but outlived those predictions by years. She always had a smile every day that I saw her. I had sent her daughter a message Friday telling her I was thinking of her and she sent me a message back that she was thinking of me often and that she pictures her mom sitting by me during my treatments with her sewing basket talking to me. The thing is that when I got my chemo the week before they had sat me in a chair next to a wall that had a quilt on it with a square that had my friends name on it. So I guess she is sitting by me. I hope I can only fight this disease with as much grace and determination as she did. Just thought some of you would appreciate this story.

    That is touching....
for me...now that I have cancer myself, that fact brings me closer to those who I've been close to who have trudged this path themselves (survivors and those that have passed)...We have a far better idea of what they faced on a daily basis. I don't think it was any "accident" that you sat by the quilt and saw that your friend was now sitting by you during your treatment. Bittersweet moment, I'm sure.

That was a very nice story about your dear friend, very nice.

It is difficult to realize I am now on the cancer side of the equation, but I am. Before cancer I would say I was caring but indifferent. Now, I am confused, fearful and certainly more mindful of where I fit in. Time spent on these threads has been an awakening of sorts.

    Blessings,
