IVC
Shawnna,
I received IVC throughout chemo and continue to receive them. The best scenerio for you would be to work with a naturopath or integrative practitioner who will do tests to identify your particular needs. There is a blood test you can have done at either a lab in Germany or Greece, that will identify the integrative treatments that will be of most benefit to you. You can also have blood tests that will identify the weaknesses currently present in your system. The Germany or Greek test are pretty pricey. The other blood work can be covered by insurance if you have them ordered by a practitioner covered by your insurance.
That said, high dose IVC can do no harm, and you will gain some benefits from it, either way. It will boost your immune system and help undo some of the damage done by the chemo. You can also address the neuropathy with l-glutamine and/or alpha lipoic acid, and vitamin B6.
The IVC served me well during chemo and kept my body strong enough to recieve two additional doses of chemo, which I think were very beneficial to my outcome. There are two schools of thought regarding the IVC. One is that eventually you will no longer need them, the other is that you should have one once a month, after you are a couple of years out from chemo. For the first year after chemo. it seems the protocol is two per week. These can add up in cost, but sometimes you can get them covered by insurance.0 -

Thanks! I have appt later in month to talk with dr who does the iv c infusions. You are a smart lady. I take notes from your posts. Been trying to eat right. Staying away from sugar. Been hard but then I remember how bad chemo made me feel. Thanks for responding . I am learning from you! I'm a stage 3c, serous pappillary ovc. If you don't mind me asking, what type was yours?

Oh, thanks, Shawnna, so much for the compliment. I've learned a lot about this disease, much of it from my naturopath, an ovarian cancer survivor herself. I'm glad the information I share is helpful to you. I'm with you in wanting to do anything to avoid chemo again. It was very rough.
My diagnosis was papillary serous adenocarcinoma, stage IIIc, and my debulking was suboptimal.0
