in Colorectal Cancer #1
I'm having blood work today for the first time since Feb. Silly me, I'm so frightened. I've an appointment with my onc next Tues. to find the results.

    The waiting is the worst, right?
    Waiting for results puts me on edge, and of course the mind can go to the darkest places.
    Chances are good that everything will be fine, so why not plan on a nice lunch or celebratory dinner on Tuesday after you get your results? It will give you something to look forward to.

    Oh the waiting is the hardest, but don't let negative thoughts creep in (too) much.

    Waiting is one of the worst parts of this disease. Take a deep breath. Be gentle with yourself and know we wait with you. Someone once suggested to me to surround myself with beauty during this time. Surprisingly, I found it helps....a bouquet of flowers, walking by the ocean or a pretty garden, a museum.
    This time, too, will pass.
