CT Scan and Blood work up scheduled!

Going to have my 1 year CT Scan with a FULL Blood work-up. CT is scheduled June 6th and I have to have my blood drawn next week with 16 hr. fast. The Cancer with 12" of my Bowels being removed made me border-line Diabetic. Sugar level hovers around 130 with 1 glipizide 5mg a day. A little worried about the scan, have been feeling tired again all the time and lost 8 pounds the last month. Something is not right and my Family Physician is playing it on the down side. Probably keeping me fom being worried too much! Symptoms were similar back in June of 2010 when I was diagnosed with B-Cell Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma Stage 2. Well, we will see soon enough! Hoping the Big C has not returned

I Understand
I had an endoscopy May 16. I thought I was suppose to hear by yesterday. I was mistaken.
I am suppose to hear today, Friday. The doctor took 5 samples for biopsy.

I have to leave today to help a friend who just came home from the hospital. She was
bitten by her best friend's dog. Since she is a diabetic, they admitted her to the hospital.
The bite was pretty bad. Will I miss the doctor's call????

My family doctor never communicated with my oncology group at all, and if he (your family doc) is unfamilir with your file, he might just be trying to maintain a poker face for your psychological well-being. I hope that is the case. I also hope your results are all negative.

It is odd, how in medicine "negative" is always "good."

How often are you checking your blood sugar? I wonder if the fluctuation of your glucose levels could be causing the fatigue. Just a thought, and maybe way off base, but maybe check it more often and see what it's doing. I was checking mine 4 times each day when I was on high dose prednisone, which makes you "artificially" diabetic. Now that I'm on a lower dose it's staying within normal range, but I was surprised how high it got at times on the higher dose. When I was in the hospital, one of my visitors brought me a jelly donut. Yum - you crave sweets on prednisone. I thought I could sneak it past the nurses, but I was totallly busted at the next blood sugar check - 362! Ummm.

In any case, I hope all goes well, and will be thinking of you.
