Ed passed away May 17, 2012. Although the TACE therapies were successful in getting rid of the many tumors in his liver and he had the best of care at home and at hospital his liver and body could not take any more. at the end he had internal bleeding, severe Ascitis, and had a couple of seizures. once the medication to bring his blood pressure up was stopped and the pain medicine increased he was gone very quickly.
His memorial service is today and his urnament with military honors at the va cemetery is next Tuesday.
If you have read my previous posts you know that we did everything that we could and that we were both very strong throughout. Ed was in constant pain the few days before he went. He must've known that those were his last days on earth because he prepared and gave me instructions on what to do for him. I am following his wishes.
i wish you all strength and i hope that you try as much as you can to enjoy every day that you have here with your loved one. thank you and God Bless

Maria,
You already know how sorry I was to hear about Ed's passing. This is yet, another thing we now have in common.. Paul lasted 2 years 3 months since his diagnosis. I know we both should be lucky for the extra time we shared with our husbands since their diagnosis but it will never seem like enough time..
My thoughts are with you in these new days you must face without Ed. Prayers, love and hugs.
