SIR Spheres

in Colorectal Cancer #1
My wife had the spheres injected today. The procedure went as planned and will follow-up in 6 weeks. The doctor said it really takes 3-4 months to see the results, so we'll stay tuned. In addition, he said the six-week checkup CEA will become the new baseline to determine tumor metabolic activity.

    I think that's wonderful that she was a candidate and could have them and from many people I've been in contact with lately, sounds like they have the potential to work amazingly well to beat those liver tumors. God bless her - I'll add her to my prayers! My daughter is having Theraspheres tomorrow for her liver mets and we are sooooo hopeful. I am a nervous wreck.

    That's great that it is over and done with. Wishing you remarkable results. I, too, am so happy she was a candidate for that procedure.
    Will she have to resume chemo for a while yet??? Not sure what all happens with sir spheres.

    Day 2
    Day 2. Appetite is down. Ate 3 pieces of pizza for lunch,a PPand J for lunch and liquids. Stomach pain, just wants to lie in the bed. She's in good spirits, just being quiet.

    She has some pain in the abdomen but no other symptoms. She sleeps alot but her energy is slowly coming back. The radiologist report says to keep people 3' away for 9 days, and no children on her lap for a month. My wife LOVES children.

    It is much easier than the chemo embolization as far as recovery and after effects so far.

    that I'm not very familiar with, but it sounds very encouraging. From what I understand it's a great thing that they were able to do this and I hope for the best. You have my prayers and good wishes -- keep us posted how she's doing. Dan

And her appetite is finally coming back. I hope your wife is doing well and I hope and pray both these ladies get great results from this liver targeted therapy. Keep us posted!

    9 days
    She is driving, and spent time with some friends yesterday and today. She's in a little discomfort which doesn't need pain medication. She had a temperatore for a few days but it is gone now.
    More importantly, after 9 days I can move back into the bedroom and sleep in our bed.

    Best to your daughter.
