Glad It's Over
Hi Ilona,
I am so very happy to read that you are not finished with the ordeal of brain radiation. I am sorry to learn that you are having problems but, in due time they shall straighten out.
Hopefully one of the other ladies with brain mets will answer your question. Hopefully the next 3 weeks you can just do as little as possible in order to recover fully.
Hugs to you too,
Doris0 -

Hi llona! Congrats on being done with rads! I know it had to be so hard on you and I am amazed with you!
I didn't have chemo, but, I know one of the pinkies that had brain rads will be able to answer you.
Good to see you posting!
Sue

So glad you're finished! I finished 8 weeks ago....I had my head buzzed when it started falling out...so far no new growth but I am on chemo, too, that causes " thinning" ....so I may not see hair again....as for the fatigue, I think it's going to take much longer than 3 weeks to get your energy level back....at least that's been my experience...so don't beat yourself if it doesn't come back as quickly as 3 weeks... ..I am just now starting to do much of what I did before the brain mets.....I've had rads 3 times and the brain rads, for me, caused fatigue unlike anything I have ever experienced.....
I was also put on an antidepressant called Remeron... It has made a huge difference....it increases your appetite among other things....I have lost 23 pounds.....due to my taste buds being way out of whack! At times food was absolutely repulsive! And I didn't need to lose any weight...has your taste buds been affected at all? I am now eating things I couldn't before....so I am trying to pack on some pounds!
Again I am so glad it's over for you!

I'm hoping that you will be able to rest, relax and recover from the trauma that your body has been through. I did read a sigh of relief in your post and I am happy for that.
Please take good care of yourself and allow your body to regroup. I hope you have some wonderful people in your life who will help you--let them.
