I turned 40 today....

Well as of yesterday.. It was just a year ago this month that I received the diagnosis that I had stage 3 NPC. Still rattles me when I say or write this. I am 6 months from my last chemo and am feeling pretty good. My taste is coming back and so is my energy. I know there is a lot of watching and waiting for the next couple of years but I am greatly optimistiic. Thank you to all of you on this board for your advice and your caring. You all helped me and I'm so grateful. Xx

    and to me. I turned 59 just a couple of days ago. Didn't think I would see that happen, which has been a topic of conversation in our house this week.

    The Big 40
    Happy Birthday and congratulations on being a survivor of NPC. You really need to celebrate this one. 40 is a milestone so if you haven't already thrown yourself a party, do it now before too much time passes. Make it a Mexican theme with margaritas and chips and salsa as it being so close to Cinco De Mayo.

    My wife threw a party for my 40th as I did hers. To me, I thought it was really old. But now looking back, I had no physical pains or signs of aging. My 40's were great, as yours will be now that you have this terrible ordeal behind you.

    I am 5 months older than you, just diagnosed NPC stage 3 last month. Best wishes to you for being cancer free for the next 40 years!
