Update on tongue biopsy and good news!

Well we took off for a much needed trip to our RV property on the coast that has flooded TWICE now, so just getting back here. Replacing float barrels under a wooden dock is no fun, I tell you, but we also relaxed a lot. We so wanted to stay another day as we had unprecedented high temps for this time of year and full sunshine (yes I wore my sun-block and wide-brimmed hat!) but we had to head home on Sunday to make my Monday appt. to get the results from my tongue biopsy. All is good! It's something called squamous epithelial hyperplasia, or something like that. The oral surgeon said it can sometimes be unexplained, but it had no indications of growth or cancer, WOOT! I have never bitten my tongue in that area, nor does it touch my teeth for irritation, but whatever, is my response. No more cancer! Just FYI, I had just gotten over my Mohs surgery for SCC of the lower lip when this was discovered, and after that had three other biopsies on the back and leg which came back neg. Just glad to be done with being cut up that's for sure. Now I just need to remember to look under my tongue for any changes in that. I'm also still monitoring the healing of my Mohs surgery, as it still wants to crust and peel, but I'm thinking it's just the normal healing process going on now as so much everything else is turning out well. Monitor, monitor!
Hope all is well!

the english translation for this is
"thickened skin.". Not a very exciting diagnosis, but just exactly what you wanted.0
