Can I ask what the time frame was between all these tests? Did the pet scan show cancer or did they do exploratory surgery? I do appreciate all your help. I am leaning on calling on Monday for the doc to order a petscan. Again, thank you and God bless.0 -

Yes, to a PETscan
Margaret, If the dr is willing to do a PET scan I would have to say DO IT. My husband had a recurrence on the outside of the esophagus. He had been having regular stretches at 3-6 week intervals and nothing was seen with the endoscopy he repeatedly had until the tumor was large and with everything in such close proximity the cancer invaded the trachea and aorta before it was found Better to check it out than worry.
