Thanks, those are the things I am looking for. Dad went in on Tues to have another look down his throat because he was feeling so sick. He does not need a stretch, the tumor has grown very large. they did cancel his chemo for last week and now he is going to meet with his Dr. to discuss radiation for the tumor. What are your thoughts on this? He did have a shake from McD's last night, but got sick. He is not eating not because he can not swallow, but just sick all the time. I had talked to him about a feeding tube awhile ago, but he doesn't want to listen to me, guess because I am not a Dr. I get so frustrated because he will not research himself, everything is whatever the Dr. thinks. I have told him and my mom you have to fight for what you want and feel is best for you, the Dr's wont!!! Sorry for the vent also.0 -

Hi Chrissie
I was a caregiver for my dad. He passed from EC with mets to the liver in March 2010. I have been where you are now. I had to be the research/dr appt. caregiver. Dad called me his right hand girl. I researched everything, printed it, and read it to dad and mom. I called and spoke to the drs. I made the dr. appts. I drove dad for his treatments once a week, he drove himself the other days. You just have to take over at this point. Your dad will appreciate it. Call his dr and speak to him about the feeding tube. It will be the best way for your dad to get the nutrition he needs. Have the dr. talk to your dad about it. I am glad Sherri and William could help you. I knew they would! We have each other's backs here. You do have to be the squeaky wheel for sure. Put your foot down and demand what you want. Hang in there, you are doing the best you can and we are here to help you.
