This is probably a dumb question, but when you don't know..(immune system)

Hi Ladies,
How can one tell if their immune system is weak? I know far too well how much stress weakens the immune system. My white cell count remained normal throughout most of my treatments. I'm on Avastin for maintenance now, and my white counts are still very good. I attended an event a couple of weeks ago in which afterwards, several friends became very sick with high fever, etc. So far, (knock on wood) I have not had that nasty virus.
What can we do to help boost our immune systems?
I know this is probably really showing my ignorance, but we all want to beat this beast for as long as possible!!
Thanks,
Carla

Tests
There are blood tests that are used to assess the immune system. I'm pretty sure you can measure your natual killer (NK) cells. I will need to check my lengthy list of blood tests. One effective way to boost your immune system is with high dose IV vitamin C. If that is not an options, I'd recommend taking 1,000 mg of liposomal or lipospheric vitamin C daily. There has been a lot of success with a product used extensively in Germany, and is available in the U.S., called Iscador. These are injections of mistletoe extract that stimulates your immune system to recognize the cancer. It is even specific to the type of cancer, as there are four or five differnt kinds of Iscador and each focuses on a few cancer types. This is something that you would have to get through a naturopath or integrative practitioner.0
