LYMPHEDEMA SLEEVES: The site that I have purchased my arm sleeves from for the last 6 plus years has a new product they are introducing and it is priced to entice (I just ordered 3 of them). If you are interested here is the link. You will have to measure your arm, they have a chart below the product that shows you exactly how to measure your arm to ensure a properly fitted sleeve. You'll have to copy the link below to go to the site.

Happy to help my friend, they carry several brands at a decent price but this new one they are offering is a super good deal!

    Than you for the info.....I
Than you for the info.....I was just put into a sleeve recently. Was told by my Onco that I would never need one as I did not have lymph node involvement. Well, I guess it can still happen, as my arm started swelling a few months ago. I did go to a lymphedema clinic and a supply store you actually takes measurements...the sleeves are spendy but my insurance covers them. They did say to remeasure periodically, as an incorrect size can do more damage than good, so that is what I would be concerned about. Hope it all works out for you...the prices is awesome, but also check your insurance coverages, it may be covered.

Thanks for sharing this site. I just got my first glove and sleeve day before yesterday and am still learning how and when to use it. I'm always looking for a way to save money and this site gives me the option. I really appreciate the sharing of information!

    Have to have 'custom'
Not everyone can use 'Off the Shelf' garments. Not everyone needs the same compression level. I deal with fairly significant LE and in a way logic would seem to say that heavy compression would work better - WRONG for me. High compression makes it much worse (tried high compression first) and low works the best. Many will not fit into 'Off the Shelf' garments - I don't at all. A year ago, we got my custom sleeves worked out - BUT we are still working on getting an ideal glove. I just saw my LE guy this morning and we did some new measurements based on my last glove to try to make it better. My hands are really weird - they are partially 'webbed' (toes are 'worse' - LOL). So we'll see if the new gloves are better once they get here from Germany - sleeves will be fine and once they are here if there us a problem, have 2 weeks to send back for alterations.

Remember - bad fitting garments or wrong compression can cause problems.

Good point Susan. I have been dealing with lymphedema for 8 years now and of course at first I bought mine from a PT who measured me and ordered them. I also still go to a PT who periodically checks my measurements to be sure I know what I am doing LOL! My insurance will not pay for my sleeves (go figure) so this site is a great source for high quality sleeves (same brand I get from my PT) at a much better prices, usually about 15.oo dollars less. This new sleeve is same compression and same material just introductory offer. I do agree though if you are just starting out it is best to get the needed info. from a specialist, however if you already know about what type of sleeve you use this is a great site, my PT is aware that this is where I get my sleeves and she is fine with it since it is the same product she would be selling me at a better cost. Hope your new glove works out for you! I know I too wear a glove and the first time I got mine I was shocked at how much more they cost then the sleeve, sure feels good to wear it though.

    I always forget
I always forget - my care is through VA so what I need is gotten. My certified LE guy has his Masters in OT so though I have dealt with some PT, they always check with my LE guy first.

You've probably said but I forget (I'm 'old' - at least that's 'my story and I'm sticking to it' LOL). -do you have an MLB machine and night sleeve?

No I do not use the machine because I have severe insomnia and I would never sleep if I were wearing it. So I wear the sleeves and glove and get PT from a certified lymphedema specialist. I get my arm massaged properly and banded occasionally to lessen the swelling. Hope you are doing well.
