Metastases of recurrent uterine adenocarcinoma in lung

I just had a biopsy that is "most likely" a recurrent uterine adenocarcinoma in my left lung. It's only 1 nodule, about 1.5 cm in size now. The part that is freaking me out is that the surgeon is talkig about a Pneumonectomy - removing my entire left lung - because the nodule is near the pulmonary artery and main bronchial tubes. You may remember that the surgeon removed 1/2 of my left lung last year, but the cancer came back.

I was thinking this surgery would be a wedge resection, but having my whole lung removed is a big deal. Fortunately, I have healthy lungs, although they are smaller in capacity since I am only 5 feet tall. Anyone else out there facing something like this? Or know someone? Or have any advice on what I should do?

    Surgery
    Thank you, Laurel, for your reply. Well, I guess surgery is my best chance. As the nurse put it, Chemo is not my friend, since I'm highly allergic to it and stopped breathing with Taxol, and couldn't tolerate Carboplatin, either. I've had a very rough week, waiting for all the test results, but it looks like surgery is about all the hope I have. Two things to be thankful for, though, is that my lungs are healthy - I never smoked - and that the cancer is isolated to only this one location; otherwise, surgery would not be offered as an option.
