My forever love passed away on February 27, 2012
I fought the good fight.
I have completed the race.
I have kept the faith.
2 Timothy 4:7
Robert (Bob) was born in Council Bluffs, IA on April 28, 1953. Growing up, Bob had a total of 5 brothers and sisters who he was very close with. In 1971, Bob graduated from Ralston High School and, the following year, Married his sweetheart Linda on June 17th. In 1974 Bob started his first residential framing company and continued framing for the next 30 years. During this time, he was able to help so many family and friends and never hesitated to offer his talents to help another.
During Bob’s 30 years of framing, he also dabbled in the real estate business, building and maintaining several rental properties in Omaha. In 2004, Bob and Linda purchased their first rental home in Estes Park, CO. This endeavor allowed them to spend many months each year in Colorado and Bob loved every minute he was there. There was nothing he loved more than sitting by the river with his sweetie, snowshoeing & hiking with family and friends, and taking long drives thru the National Park to observe the local flowers and wildlife.
As much as Bob loved Colorado, his first love was his family. Bob and his wife, Linda, were married for just under 40 years and had 2 children and 5 grandchildren. Anyone that entered Bob’s house was instantly greeted with warmth and affection. Bob is well known for his big hugs and even bigger heart. The most important things in his life were his faith and his family. Throughout Bob’s 2 year battle with cancer, he always stayed positive and was an inspiration to all he encountered. His courage and strength were amazing and will never be forgotten.

Hi Linda
Thanks for sharing this sad news with us. I don't come to this discussion board very often anymore because I get most news from the EC Facebook page. My husband, Greg lost his fight with EC on Oct 24, 2011 after just 15 weeks after diagnosis. Since that day, you are the 7th person that I know of from this board who have been widowed by this beast. Myself, Cheryl (wife of Rickie), Whitney (wife of Kevin), Chantal (wife of Lee), Kim (wife of Bill), Ann (wife of Alan) and Mary (wife of Chad)and now you. We all understand and know your pain Linda. My prayers are with you as you start this new chapter of your life without Bob. Know that he's still with you in your heart and in your memories. Hugs to you,

Was glad to know him.................
Linda and family,
I will forever cherish the visit I had with Bob in Rochester in February. Vicki and I were truly impressed with meeting you and your beautiful family. We felt the love for Bob from you, your children and your adorable grandchildren. I never thought Bob would not recover from this setback. He gave me a hug, I felt a strong man that was fighting this disease.
I have told you before of the similarities in our families. Our ages, love of family, belief in God's grace, midwesterners, love of the Rocky mountains. I will keep you and your family in my daily prayers and hope that we can meet again some day. I know I will see Bob in heaven. God Bless...

i am sorry for your loss. I hope in time the good memories will overshadow your grief.
I lost my sweet Bill on December 17th quite suddenly. I am grieving with you, and for you. I do know that there are no words to describe your mourning and deep sense of loss. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Love to you - Kim0 -
Sincere condolence to you Linda and your family.
Bob sounds a truly wonderful person so you will have hundreds of happy memories to help you through during this very difficult time. My husband Alan has been gone for just 5 weeks tomorrow but it seems like yesterday. Just hope you can take a little comfort from family and friends. People just keep telling me that time is a great healer but like you I had been married a long time. Sending hugs to you from England.

I am so sorry to hear of
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. It was nice to read about Bill's life. It seems that we get so caught up in our battle with the beast that we sometimes forget the person and their accomplishments in life. I too know how difficult this can be. My husband, Rickie, passed away on January 4 of this year. There are good days and bad, and I have found keeping busy and getting back to work to be a great help. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
