No short term memory

I was diagnosed with Oligoastrocytoma grade II in the right temporal lobe a little over 12 years ago and I was on at least a half a dozen meds including tegratol, Keppra, and Depakote. I had surgery about five years ago and the surgery affect my short term memory. Over the past five years seizures are here and there but a lot less than they were before the surgery. My short term memory is awful though, sometimes very frustrating. I'm able to work and drive but always need a phone on me to remind me of things including where I park my car and who I was out with that day. I forget a lot of small things but all in all I think of my self being very lucky and happy that I have most of my long term memory. I was wondering if anyone else has this issue and see what they do to remember important things. Any input will help and I thank you for your time.

Short term memory issues
Hi Chris,
Just simply due to the size and placement of my tumor, I too have short term memory issues. I have a few tricks that you may have already used, but they help me day to day.
I always carry a small note pad with me. I note things like what level parking, left right of elevator, etc. I also make notes just before I do them, i.e.: Mom and I went shopping at store X. I have post-it's on my bathroom mirror, "brush teeth", etc. At least I know my teeth are getting brushed more than twice a day!
I started these little reminders as a way to remember to take my meds each day. I finally got a pill box (Single mom). But, they can be applied each day, to most things.
Let me know if you can apply anything!
Hope and blessings,
