Luckily the mass was Not attached to any organ, other than the lining of the peritoneal cavity. They did surgery and removed the mass and the margins were clean. All good news we think. They are planning on doing 6 sessions of chemo to kill any possible renegade cancer cells that might be out there. She has also had a clean PET scan. Anyone go through a similar situation?

You may find some on the peritoneal cancer board who have experienced this. Sometimes when this happens so long after a hysterectomy physicians classify the cancer as primary peritoneal.

A biopsy will determine type of cancer, not location. If this is endometrial after 14 years NED, that sounds like great news to me. Treatment sounds like the norm.
Best wishes to you and wising you another 14 years NED. Mary Ann0
