Adhesions

I was told I had adhesions
I was told I had adhesions when I complained about pain in my pelvic area after my debulking surgery. The nurse practitioner and oncologist both said it was adhesions or scar tissue from where the tumor was and cancer cells removed. My CT scan in December 2011 was clear so I'm not sure if they can see them or not. But I still occasionally have the pains, as long as my ca-125 stays low,I'm not going to worry about it. Hope this helps.

Adhesions
I've had them in varying degrees, and notice them most when I'm doing Pilates and tighten my abdominal muscles. I have actually had luck keeping them minimized by using castor oil packs. When the adhesions build up, I use the packs for a few days to a week, and the pain is gone.0 -

hi, i have been told that i have adhesions.i do have pains in abdomen and it is actually showing on my ct scan. most of them at the scar area - looks like bowels just glued to the scar.. I also have hernia. I did not try castor oil, but it sounds good to me, i will try. Thanks Tethys41.0 -
almost everyone has adhesions
after any kind of invasive abdominal procedure. Debulking surgery, by nature of how aggressive it is, is worse than many at producing these. Most people with adhesions do not have symptoms. When symptoms arise, they can be anywhere from mild, intermittent pain, tobowel obstruction. The adhesions themselves do not show up on CT scans. An abdominal organ which is "stuck" as a result of adhesions, may show up, however.

ME, TOO
That's what my doctor called them when I complained of 'pinching' pain on the lower right side and some other areas. I also notice it more when I've been diligent with my abdomminal exercises. It always catches me off guard, and then I remember I've been exercising. Eventually the pain goes away for me. Don't despair!
