    UPDATE from dr visit...well,
UPDATE from dr visit...well, I am feeling cautiously hopeful. My onc says he is not convinced that this is really mets. His reasons...I am far out from dx (14+ years); my blood work was perfect, my symptoms are not consistent with bone mets. He says bone pain would be constant and get progressively worse, which is not the case with me. He acknowledges that breast cancer can recur at any time, just doesn't fit with my symptoms. He thinks I may be having some other sort of bone erosion. He is ordering the CA 27 blood test, and a PET scan. Crossing my fingers. Thanks for all the support and prayers.

Keep a close eye on this
Keep a close eye on this Kim--no matter what your results show.

I had been 18 years out when I started having rib pain. An xray showed 2-4 rib fractures, so I had a CT scan, bone scan, PET scan, markers, etc. After 4 years of intermittent pain, very gradually worsening, but often with months of no pain, an astute radiologist called it bone mets on my (3rd) bone scan.

Finally, I had a bone biopsy and, unfortunately, learned that I did indeed have bone mets.

I don't want to scare you with my tale, but I do want you to remain vigilant.

Be aware that bone mets pain is very on again, off again for months (even years), but will gradually worsen. And, if your symptoms continue, please keep checking for it.

BTW, I am now 25 years out and doing well even though I do have bone mets :-)

And here is my fervant prayer that you just have one "off" test and you are fine!

    No. Actually oncologist
No. Actually oncologist said he isn't convinced it is mets...my symptoms don't fit. Blood work was perfect, pain doesn't fit, etc. He wants me to do more bloodwork AND a PET scan. One day at a time, but this day looks a little brighter. Thanks for the support. Kay

Do you have your PET scan
Do you have your PET scan results yet Kay? Hoping it will be good news.

    Unfortunately, results from
Unfortunately, results from PET scan aren't good. There are multiple spots on my bones...mets. I am soooo sad. Dr wants to do a bone biopsy to see if this is the original BC, or another type. He said it is very rare for it to come back like this after almost 15 years, but obviously it can happen.

The "good" news, is that it doesn't appear to be in any of my organs and my bloodwork is perfect. He says that if the cancer is ER+, I would take an oral medication and a monthly shot...God willing, I could go on like that for years.

If it isn't ER+, they would do chemo. Does all this sound consistent with your experience?
