She was very open and agreed to bring my case to the tumor board this Thursday. She will also talk to the transplant doctor. She admitted that she never had this come up before and is willing to explore the possibility. She also never heard that cancer survivors could ever donate blood. Can't ask for mor than that.

I'll keep you posted!

    Positive news!
That's a big step forward. Hopefully she will be as 'open' when presenting to Board. Say NO without researching it because she hadn't heard of it before would be a redflag to me.

All she'd have to do to find that some cancer survivors can donate blood is to go to the Red Cross Blood Bank site on line. Breast cancer is one that can as long as not Stage IV and qualify in all the usual 'stuff' that anyone has to.

I'll keep fingers and toes crossed and lots of prayers.

Oh, Roseann--I'm so hopeful for you
Just the fact that she was willing to listen and present it to the Board is huge. Stay positive and don't give up the fight until you've exhausted all possibilities. I know how important this is to you.

    Prayers and hugs, Renee

    Thanks for asking.
My case was presented to the tumor board but no decision yet. My transplant coordinator thinks they are doing more research before making a decision. So it's a waiting game! We all know how that is!

... sounds like the board is looking at every angle --
hate the waiting game as well!

Let us know Roseann the outcome.
