My only advice would be to follow the doctor's orders completely. Things seem to go smoother that way. Get lots of rest for a couple of days after your procedures.

You've already had surgery?
Hello Phil
My husband had only 1 swallow test and that was done 2 - 3 days after surgery. Is that what you're talking about?
There is no prep to be done for either a swallow test or a PET scan. You just want good results from both. Be sure to let us know how it goes for you.

Is this the beginning of testing? Both the swallow test and the pet will allow the doctors to diagnose your cancer and know the staging and the treatment that is needed. Neither test is anything to worry about. All of us have been through a lot of both.
Let us know what your staging is and what plan of action will be done.
Good luck and prayers ,
